What an AWESOME, rewarding and hot day! A sincere thank you to everyone who came out today to help support the Little Giants Foundation. I was touched by so many and I was able to win many silent auction items (shhh) in order to also help find a cure for these angles who were like Mitchell. Just like his dad told me, he touched lives everywhere. You can still donate, just ask me how. Thank you to channel 8 for coming out as well as all the donations from various companies all around town! You are truly are blessing to this foundation.
Family Reunion at the lake doesn't get any better! Sunshine, boats, food, and family. What a great way to spend the weekend. My aunt from Gonzales, LA was in with all my cousins and my kids had a blast! Jaxon of course, belongs in the outdoors! With a close eye on him at all times of course...

“For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindness; and for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone.” ~Audrey Hepburn
If children have the ability to ignore all odds and percentages, then maybe we can all learn from them. When you think about it, what other choice is there but to hope? We have two options, medically and emotionally: give up, or fight like hell. ~Lance Armstrong
Nope! There is nothing more fun than the mall, husband to carry the sacks, my favorite Bourbon chicken and kids on a giant swing to make the best Friday night ever! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend with your family as well!
Hello to all my facebook friends, sponsors and family!Although the past couple of weeks have been very emotional and difficult to say the least, I have not been avoiding anyone, but simply trying to continue doing what I have forever loved to do…help others.
I have had the opportunity to do so many things recently that have made such an impact on my life, that it’s put all the important things back into prospective for me.Thank you to those who allowed me to be a part of the important things in YOUR lives.
As for my passion and platform...Nothing could stop me now!I’m more determined than ever to make the diabetes doggie a reality, continue raising funds for Tori’s Team and JDRF, and most importantly, my family.
As most of you already know, I made a very heart wrenching decision to resign my title of Mrs. Oklahoma International, and forward it onto Heidi Ducato, first runner up 2010, and I am sure she will represent Oklahoma proudly and I wish her the very best. I will continue my title as Mrs. Tulsa International 2010 and by no means will a title change impact what I am doing for and in my community.
I know so many have asked, and it has really been difficult to talk about for the past couple weeks, but with time and prayer, I know that God has bigger and better plans for my future. For all those who just want to know, “Why?”Well, the only thing I really feel at liberty to say is that with a true heart for what you believe in and determination to stay true to yourself and all those who support and care for you, you have to do what is right. Those who know me know I am not a quitter and I give everything I do my all. I wish I could express how much gratitude I have for each and every friend, family and supporter that I have had for the past 6 months, even before the crown was awarded to me.I am so grateful to everyone and am blessed to have had so many positive notes and messages since I have had to make this decision. My work will go on and for those who know me well, I believe you work hard, your earn it. I did that and am so proud of myself.Thank you for all your love and respect.
We all lost a dear friend, photographer, and business man today. Jim Grillot passed away today. I will miss you and always treasure the time I had you in my life. God needed you more and until that day comes and we meet again, I will hold you in my heart.
I was invited to come speak at Christ United Methodist in Tulsa on type 1 diabetes as well as women and heart disease and stroke. I just get up there and get so passionate about my topics, I could go all night! Sermon? Oh, yea! Thank you to the pastor for inviting me and letting my share my message.
For those of you who may not know, my husbands great uncle is Buzz Aldrin. We haven't seen him in four years but he came in town over the Memorial Day holiday and my kids were on cloud 9! Thanks for making their YEAR uncle Buzz!
For the 33rd year in a row, Tulsa-based Zebco - arguably the most famous brand in fishing - will stock 10,000 fish in LaFortune, Mohawk and Jenks' Veterans ponds. And this Saturday, any Tulsan who so desires can show up at these ponds and fish to their heart's content. It's all part of Zebco's Take Me Fishing Day.
The kicker? No fishing license is required. No, really. Plus, the fish are tagged and, when they're caught, they can be redeemed for prizes.
If you're like me and you love to fish, be sure to put this event on your calendar for this Saturday, June 5 from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m.
