Claremore Cheer Challenge

Well, my girls had their last cheer competition of the season last Saturday! They have worked hard and as a coach, I could not be more proud! It is not easy coaching (especially for free) but I can say without any hesitation, that I have the best 3rd grade squad around! To prove that, they took 1st place at their competition!

A long day with a fantastic ending! Great job Tiger Cheer!

The 1st of many Christams's!

Well, I had my first Christmas on Wednesday with my dad, step-mom, sister and nieces, nephew's and many others that it would be way too confusing to try to explain but that I love dearly! My dad and step-mom are going to visit my aunt in Florida (rough I know) so we had to have ours early! Olive Garden, wine and presents made it a fun and energetic evening! I love spending time with them all! With so much family in Oklahoma, we have many more to come. I am very blessed!

More Reading and Fun!

The 3-year old class was so fun! Mr. Cody has his hands full! Especially after all the Christmas candy/snacks they had AFTER their reading at the party! Thank goodness we have good teachers!

Reading and Fun!

What a joy kids are to me! And being so animated, I love to read and believe kids should read as much as possible. On Friday, I got be a part of story ready and book exchanges at Immanuel Lutheran Christian Academy. The kids loved it and there is nothing better that seeing their faces when hearing us read stories to them. Thank you to ICLA for letting me share in the magic!

Angel Tree at Woodland

Wow! What an amazing night! I went to Woodland to take MANY gifts we collected for the Angel Tree and it was so neat to hear the story I got to hear! First I want to say THANK YOU to Doug for helping me with many details on the Angel Tree, including bagging toys and arranging them.

When I was there about a week ago getting more angels for MY kids to shop for, there were still many families and kids needing adopting. I was so upset as I know we can only do so much. I carried that with me over the last few days, even though I know in my heart I do all I can. When I went tonight, I found out that American Airlines came in very recently and took ALL of the remaining angels and families to adopt! AWESOME and very generous. Thank you American Airlines and I truly hope many people are blessed this Christmas season.

God Bless!

Wow! What a cold night, but an amazing night! First after a long battle with strep throat, (I have been well all fall and winter so I guess it was my turn) I finally feel like I am on the mend! So, yesterday we had our last cheer competition of the year. As the coach of an amazing squad, I was so proud to see them win 1st place! That in itself was a 9 hour day, then off to the parade to ride in a black Mercedes! I had the pleasure of having Hannah and Tori with me in the car and the AMAZING people of Tulsa and surrounding cities lining the streets to watch all the amazing floats! It was so neat to hear all the kids yelling sweet things to me and hear their little voices saying "Merry Christmas" over and over!

As a volunteer coach of youth sports and a volunteer for many other things, I want to say a big THANKS to Larry Fox, who helped put on the parade. He is a volunteer, not a paid worker. He did an amazing job and was VERY helpful in all he did to make this a huge success!

I hope you all got a chance to watch it from your WARM homes and you each have a wonderful Christmas!

Angel Tree for Diabetes!

Hey All! I wanted to first stop and say THANK YOU so much to each and everyone to took the time to come to Vinny's and not only eat, but to bring a gift for our annual angel tree party. You truly are a blessing to Tori, Michelle, my family and myself. We still have counted the gifts,
as there are a few coming in Thursday evening from a couple of people who could not make it) so I will give you a final count when I get one. It looked as though we had about 25 or so though already! So, you can be confident that there will be some kids getting presents that may not have gotten them, thanks to YOU!

We also raised $250 for our "Team Tori". Thanks to Larry at Vinny's for his commitment (and patience) as we basically had the whole place for our party at one point! Thank you to EACH of you again for your time. I know it is a very busy time of the year so it truly meant a lot to me to have you each there!

God Bless,
Stephanie

John 3:16 Needs your Help!

Hey all! I wanted to let you know I spoke with a friend of mine who helps with John 3:16. Her and I used to volunteer there with the youth in the area on Friday evenings. She asked me to share this:

John 3:16 is up 12% in the number of meals they are needing from last year. They are expected to feed thousands between Nov 24-28 and then they are expected to give out 5,500 turkey baskets to needy families!

They are asking for frozen turkeys and canned goods at the mission at 506 N. cheyenne ave from 7 am to 7 pm seven days a week or at the family and youth center at 2027 N cincinnati from 8 to 5 Monday-Friday. Starting on November 21 Under the Sun Garden Centers will accept the turkey donations as well.

Some of the local Walgreens is teaming up with the ADA for National Diabetes Month this month and offering free sugar checks as well as A1C checks! I went on Monday and I was 98! Alright! The next check is at Walgreens in BA on Thursday on 71st and Lynn Lane! 9-3 p.m.

JDRF Christmas House

The JDRF Christmas House was beautiful on Sunday, despite the rain! Santa was there in full gear and willing to hear all of the Christmas Wishes! People were scooping up the decorations for sale, which is helping to fund the cure for kiddos with diabetes! I hope you all had the chance to stop by!
